After being cancelled by GSN (Game Show Network) for 9 years, High Stakes Poker will soon reappear on the screen. Poker Central has obtained the right to broadcast this cash game show and plans to restart the show.

Marked Playing Cards Poker News. From 2006 to 2011, High Stakes Poker was broadcast on GSN for a total of seven seasons. This is arguably the most popular TV poker show in history. Most well-known players in the world were involved in the show at the time. The hosts of the first six seasons, Gabe Kaplan and A.J. Benza, were very popular with the audience. Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey and Doyle Brunson were all regular guests of the show. But this show is not limited to top professional players. Many entertainment celebrities and business people, such as former Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Bass and 2003 WSOP main event runner-up Sami Faha, appeared on multiple episodes.

High Stakes Poker lasted 98 episodes and stopped broadcasting after the 2011 Black Friday scandal. After GSN lost some of its main sponsors-an online poker site-the show was announced to stop.

In the final season, Kaplan was replaced by comedian Norm Macdonald. When Poker Central brought the show back, it was unlikely that Kaplan would return, he had already quit Poker Central.

The details of when the new episode will begin to air have not been announced. But the original producer of the show, Mori Eskandani, is clearly excited about its return.

"High Stakes Poker is original and natural, we just let players play, that's why it is so special," he said at the press conference. "It's a dream come true to bring this show to a new generation of poker fans and poker players. We hope that when the show returns, there will be more new and old faces.Marked Playing Cards Poker News

Eskandani was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2018 and is now the executive producer of PokerGo. He will direct the launch of the new High Stakes Poker project. He also helped restart another popular poker show he originally produced-Poker After Dark. In 2017, Poker Central started playing new poker games late in the night and continues to run on PokerGo. But the new Poker After Dark is very different from the old version.

During the poker boom, the show was broadcast in a streamlined format. The new program will be broadcast live, each episode will be much longer. We are not sure whether the new High Stakes Poker will have a similar model, or whether Eskandani intends to edit the episode as before.

These details will be announced at the Poker Center in the coming weeks.
