Team Director Jenny Buss said in a statement: "He will always be a part of the Lakers legend. On behalf of the entire Lakers family, I express my thoughts, prayers and condolences to the families of (his wife) Elaine and Baylor. "

Baylor was the No. 1 pick in the NBA in 1958. All 14 Nbaseasons have been spent with the Lakers, averaging 27.4 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He was the best rookie of 1959. Because he was selected to the All-Star 11 times, selected to the NBA All-NBA team 10 times, and was also selected to the Nai Smith Basketball Hall of Fame in 1976.

Baylor dedicated his life to his basketball career. Basketball can be said to be his life. But he also has another hobby, which is playing poker.

Gail Goodrich was Baylor's teammate in the Los Angeles Lakers from 1970 to 1972. After Baylor's death, the defender shared the story of the team playing cards.

Goodrich told the Los Angeles Times that the team must ban poker. The reason is very interesting, because Baylor will take all the money of his teammates.

From Goodrich’s story, we know that Baylor is a poker player. He likes playing poker very much, and his card skills are still very good. They have to ban poker, because Baylor almost always wins away his teammates' monthly pocket money.

We deeply regret the passing of Baylor, an NBA elite and enthusiastic poker player, and express our deep condolences.
